Holiday Sale Time!

Happy Thanksgiving!!  I love this time of year.  I adore the Christmas season so much, so sometimes it's easy for me to overlook Thanksgiving because I'm just so excited to put up the tree & stockings and do some holiday baking!!

But I have so much to be thankful for in my life.  We're going through a rough patch right now.  My husband graduated from school this past summer and has been looking for a job for months now with no luck.  I think sometimes it takes this type of situation to really make you think about what you DO have and how blessed you are.

For me, I'm so grateful for my husband.  He's the best in so many ways!  He's absolutely the most perfect guy for me.  I'm thankful for my two sweet babies!  They're both beautiful and healthy & bring me immense joy in my life.  I'm also thankful for a few silly things, too!  Like gummi bears, chocolate chip cookies, movies, paper!!  They may sound silly, but they bring joy into my life, too!

I hope you all have a very happy Thanksgiving and are able to ponder on what you have in your life.  Take a moment from all that yummy food and think about the little things you've been given.

And then when it's all over, come take a look at my shop!  Ha!  How's that for a transition?! :)  But really, I'm having a big sale this weekend!!

Grammar & Spelling For Small Business Owners

Well, I've been toying with this idea for awhile; I think I need to start a weekly or monthly post designated to giving grammar and spelling lessons to small business owners.  What do you think?

I've been holding back a little because I don't want to step on any toes or give off the impression I think I'm better than other people... but this seems to be a real problem!  I see mistakes time and time again in very important places!

For example, if you create and sell your own stationery, please, please, please make sure you spell it with an 'e'!  StationEry is correct.  It's what you write on and send in the mail.  StationAry means an object that doesn't move.

Some people may not notice these mistakes, but many will!  I guarantee it!  For example, a fabulous repeat client of mine recently had me design some postcards for her.  She mentioned where she'd have them printed so I could make sure the specs were correct.  The site looked wonderful!  It was professionally built and offered something a lot of my clients look for: printing on recycled paper!  I thought to myself, "Wow!  This is great.  I'm going to refer a lot of people here, I'm sure."

But do you know what?  As soon as I started looking a little deeper at the site, I could not believe how many mistakes there were including my favorite: stationAry.

Any thoughts?  Is this something you need help with?  Would you read it if I posted?  Would you take my advice and not get offended? :)

A Successful Move

As you probably know, we moved this week!  It was a successful move & we're all safely here back home in Maryland.  The kids and cat are already thrilled to be here.  ;)

Unpacking is taking longer than usual, however, so it may be Thursday before I get my office area back up & running.

Thanks for your patience!!
