Some recent logo designs...

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but designing logos is just about my favorite thing to do.  I love the process.  I love the finished product.  I love the happy customers.

Here's a logo I designed for TeeniTrini.  You have to stop by her shop if you have children--I'm THRILLED about her PVC bibs & can't wait to get my hands on them!

I also designed this logo for Paisley Greetings who has a lovely card shop.   I'm currently designing & building her website, too: http://www.paisleygreetings.com.

Another logo I designed recently was for Maggie Grae, whose website is currently under construction.

Not feeling like working today...

My poor little cat is very sick. We moved about a month ago and she started acting strange. We thought she was just transitioning, but then she stopped eating & we noticed a lump on her chin. She's had tooth trouble in the past so we just thought it was that again.

Took her to the vet last night & they called this morning to say it's pretty bad. She has a tumor-- They h aven't run tests yet, but our vet said that her guess is that it's malignant. It's so large that they'd actually have to take part of her jaw off to get rid of it & they just don't do that with cats... so our only options are to give her some medicine & special food and see how she does or put her down.

I'm such a mess. Muffs is absolutely 100% part of our little family & I just don't know what I'd do without her. She's been such a ray of sunshine in my life & is my little helper.

I guess what it comes down
to is that I don't want to be selfish in keeping her alive just because I want her around. She must be in so much pain. But I also don't want to call the shots & take her life prematurely...

Have an y of you been through this? How did you know what to do?

Love,
A very heartbroken Bitsy

By Popular Demand: Grammar & Spelling Lesson #2

Well, I had a few people comment here on my blog and many people comment outside my blog... and the overwhelming result is that YES! I should blog about common misspellings and misuses of words.

Today, I bring you the misuse of the simplest of words in our language: "I".  The biggest mistake I see is when people are speaking about themselves in photographs.  You're wandering around facebook or other social media sites and you see a photo labeled,

"Mark and I"

It's wrong!
What should it be?

"Mark and me"

Somewhere along the line, people got it into their heads that it is incorrect to refer to yourself as "me".  It just isn't the case.  Sometimes "me" is correct!

Think about it this way.  Take "Mark" out completely.  Would you say, "This is a photo of I"?  No!  You would say, "This is a photo of me."  Therefore, you should say, "This is a photo of Mark & me."

While I'm on the subject of "I" usage, I want to mention the OVERuse of the word "myself."  Think before you use this word.  There are, in actuality, very few times you'll use this word.  If you can use the word "I", use it!  I bet you've heard this:

"Who will be joining us?"

"Jamie, Tom, and myself."

The correct thing you should say is, "Jamie, Tom, and I will be joining you."

If you can use "I", use it.

You may be asking what this has to do with your small business.  Simply stated: you're everywhere!  When I make a purchase on Etsy, I usually connect a little with the artist.  Find her blog, follow him on Facebook, etc.  You represent your small business everywhere you are, so why not represent well?

Holy cow, it's the 10th already!

No really... just 15 more days until Christmas! Can you believe it? I can't. I haven't even made up my mind if we'll be sending out Christmas cards this year. *Yikes*

Well, if your life is more organized than mine this time of year, you've probably already sent your holiday cards out. BUT IF YOU HAVEN'T, hehe, make sure to stop by BitsysGreetings.etsy.com or BitsyCreations.com to purchase some holiday photo cards. You can purchase the design only to have them printed wherever OR you can have me print them. Your choice!

Just a friendly reminder... ;)

Oh Google Alerts, How I Love Thee

I am officially in love with Google Alerts. No kidding! We might get married. (Shhh! Don't tell my fabulous hubby!)

If you don't know about Google Alerts, go check it out! Basically, you type in a word of phrase you'd like to monitor & you receive e-mails with "
updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic."

Fantastic!

So why, do you ask, am I officially in love now? Because I found a great, great, GREAT new blog! I've always enjoyed getting e-mails when someone's blogged about me, but tonight I received an e-mail saying my "Words of Christmas" greeting card had been featured here on a blog by Emily Kate. Go check it out. Ultra cute blog.

La La La Giveaways!!

What's better around the holidays than giveaways?! Seriously! Everyone loves getting a little something just for being fabulous. :)

Go check out Susan's Greetings and see what you can do to be entered in her giveaway for the cutest little robot hello card!

(Or maybe don't... because I'm selfish and I want that card! My daughter would probably think I was the coolest mom ever. She's on a robot kick.)
