Look at this face...

Well, if you're a regular reader of my blog, you know we had to put our sweet Muffin cat down a few months ago when she got 'kitty cancer'.  It was horrible, fast, & untreatable. :(  We've been pondering a new addition to our family... and we LOVED that Muffs was an exotic shorthair.  She was the perfect little cat for our family: tiny (6 lbs. full grown), lovable, usually friendly, and a great indoor cat.  Not to mention that fact!  How could you not love that face?

And even though I still get a little teary-eyed looking at photos of our girl, we think it's time.  Our home just feels empty even with both of the kids running around like crazy people most days.  I just had to share... look at this face!!

And this one?!  Priceless.
We've thought about a kitten since Muffs was 5 when we got her.  But we're also chatting with a lady about a special little guy who lost an eye in an accident.  Seriously, how could you pass that up?!  We're so excited!

Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day! I love that holiday! I've loved it since long before I had a sweetheart with whom to share the day. I just enjoy the pinks and reds, the hearts everywhere, the excuse to express your love. ;) And I'm not usually a mushy person!!

I thought I'd share a little fun Valentine memory with you! The photo above is my husband Joshua & me a few years ago... A few years before that when he proposed to me, he put the ring in a Longaberger basket. Each year for Valentine's Day, Longaberger has a "Sweetheart" basket.

Now, the funny thing about me is that I'm a pretty simple kinda gal. I'm easy to please. I'm not much for cutesy. I like simple & clean. But give me a Longaberger catalog and I will find an excuse to buy everything in it!! Luckily, I have something called 'self-restraint' and our home is not completely full of baskets.

Well, ever since the proposal, Joshua has gotten me a Sweetheart basket each year for Valentine's Day!! I love feeling spoiled for a moment when I get this beautiful treat--even though I'm expecting it! This year, this is what our home looked like for Valentine's Day. I think I'll probably leave the baskets out like this, though. It really doesn't scream V-Day, does it?!

Fashion... puke.

Fashion really makes me want to puke.  Graphic, I know, but true!

Here's the thing... I was 100% tom boy when I was growing up.  I really didn't care about fashion.  I usually just grabbed something and stuck it on.  I loved unique & I loved getting a laugh.  Like... the Vans shoes I had in multiple colors.  ;)

It's still semi-true.  (Yes, I'm a mother of two and I have AND WEAR hot pink Chucks.... with my name embroidered on them, thank you very much for that fantastic Christmas present to my adorable hubby!!)  Anyway, it's semi-true.  I like to look nice, but I rarely CARE about fashion.  And now the problem is that after so many years of not caring, I DON'T KNOW about fashion.  Where do I even start?!

I've been telling myself and telling myself I need new clothes.  We just haven't had the money for awhile since my husband was in school full time for the past four years.  But now we have a relatively normal life and with a great tax return coming, I HAVE to get new clothes.

But where do I start?!  I've had a few suggestions from friends that I think I'll check out, but I'd love some input.  I think I need lessons.  Or someone to just do it for me--lol!  On that note, it reminded me of a client from quite awhile ago!  I created a logo package for a lovely lady who runs "Outfitkit" on ecrater.  Go check it out.  So fun. ;)  She has entire outfits put together ready for you to purchase--and at reasonable prices.  Most include a dress (or pants & a top) with a bag, earrings, bracelet... the whole shebang!  And she has shoes.  I'm drooling over these... if only they were half a size smaller.

I know you're thinking I'm nuts at this point since I just declared I'm a fashion moron... but here I am drooling over shoes.  So the truth is, I LOVE bags & shoes.  My closet is full.... just not of clothes. ;)

So help!!  Help!

Free Valentines!

So the kids and I were invited to a little Valentines playgroup. I'm not much for store-bought valentines, so we whipped up a little card for them to take along with their treats.

And today I thought, why not share it? So here it is: a FREE printable just for you! Just click on the image below for the full size, save it to your computer, print, and cut! (I even included cut marks!!) You get a sheet of four valentines, each measuring 3.5 x 5 inches.

Now remember, I'm being nice, so please don't take advantage of it! These are for personal use only and may not be resold. These sweet little owls may not be used for your business (banners, business cards, logos, etc.). They also may not be used on the web without giving proper credit to me, the artist. I didn't put a tacky "made by" or anything on these, so if you're feeling generous, just praise my name when you hand them out and people say, "Oh goodness! How cute!! WHERE did you get them?!" because you know they will. ;)

(And wish us luck at the playgroup! We really need some new friends!)

***Sorry, These are no longer available. Make sure to stop by for printable stationery.
